How do I access the Resident Forum?
The Colonies Townhall Google Group is the official forum for Owners and Residents. This Board-sponsored forum allows for the sharing of ideas, concerns and information pertaining to the wonderful living experience at The Colonies. By allowing for open communication between Owners, Residents, and Management, we ensure each day is another step toward our goal of providing the best living experience possible for those that proudly call The Colonies home. When is the swimming pool open?
The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and closes for the season on Labor Day. The hours are 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays and Noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Residents must have a current Facilities Pass to enter the pool. All guests must sign in and be accompanied by a Facilities Pass holder 18 years of age or older. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied at all times by a responsible person of at least 18 years of age while in the pool area.
Are there places for children to play?
A tot lot that includes a slide and other equipment for small children is in a quiet area of the property adjacent to building 9 on Tremayne Place. The pool is also a great place for children to cool off in the summer.
Can my Pet live at the Colonies?
Yes. All dogs and cats must be registered with the office yearly. Dogs are $35.00 a year and cats $10. Fairfax county leash laws are observed and owners MUST clean up after their dogs. Receptacles for dog waste are placed throughout the property.
Unless otherwise stated in your lease (if you are a renter), pets are permitted at the Colonies. Dogs known to have an aggressive nature (Pitbulls, Rotweilers, Staffordshire Terriers, or any combination thereof) are not permitted. Dogs and cats must be registered annually (Fee of $35 for dogs and $10 for cats), be up-to-date on their vaccines, and licensed in Fairfax County (dogs only). For more information see our Pet Policy.
Where can I wash my vehicle?
Vehicles may be washed from April through November in the back of the parking lot of Building 4, parking lots between Buildings 13 and 14, and between Buildings 7 and 9. Residents may obtain the necessary outside water faucet handle (faucets are attached to the buildings) by presenting their valid facilities pass to the Security Gate attendant.
What do new keys cost?
Key copies for buildings, units, clubhouse, storage and mailboxes are $3.00 each.
Elevator keys are $100 each, which is non-refundable.
Back gate passes are $20 each for the first two ($5 user fee + $15 deposit). Lost, stolen or damaged keys are $25 ($10 user fee + $15 deposit).
When is construction permitted?
Construction such as hammering, sawing, etc. is permitted from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. No construction is permitted on weekends or holidays.
Where do I send my monthly condo fee?
Condominium payments should be mailed to The Colonies, 7681 Provincial Drive, McLean, VA 22102. You may also drop payment in the Colonies Administrative Office mail slot or hand deliver payment to the office staff. Payments are due on the 1st of each month and late after the 10th.
